Trump To Hold 2nd Summit With North Korea's Kim In Late February

Published on 18 Jan 2019, 22:41
According to a report by Reuters, on Friday, the White House said that US President Donald Trump will hold a second summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un in late February but will maintain economic sanctions on Pyongyang. The announcement came after Trump ad Secretary of State Mike Pompeo met with Pyongyang's top nuclear negotiator. The meeting marked a sign of movement in a denuclearization effort that seemed to have stalled since a landmark meeting between Trump and the North Korean leader in Singapore last year. White House spokesman Sarah Sanders said that while Trump’s talks with the North Korean diplomat were productive, the United States “is going to continue to keep pressure and sanctions on North Korea.”
