Story:

The United States is seeking to rally the world behind a vision of the Middle East that includes maximum pressure on Iran and strong backing of Israel in Warsaw summit that ended Thursday.

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo last month announced the two-day conference saying that foreign ministers from around the world would come to Poland to discuss the 'destabilizing influence' of Iran in the Middle East.

The conference was held as Iran this past week celebrating 40 years since the country's Islamic revolutionary movement toppled the Western-oriented shah.

At the summit, U.S. Vice President Mike Pence took the opportunity to criticize American partners in Europe for not cooperating on the Iran sanctions after the union granted rights to its commercial subjects to do business in Iran.

Pence had also accused Iran of attempting a second Holocaust, after he had visited the Auschwitz concentration camp in Poland.

Following the summit, Pompeo met with European Union Foreign Affairs High Representative Federica Mogherini to discuss Pence's criticisms and come to an understanding as the two remain far apart on how to handle Iran.

The European Union remains committed to the Iran nuclear deal, despite recent U.S. efforts to push it to leave.
