India: Pilot dead after two aerobatics planes collide in mid-air

Two planes from the Indian Air Force's aerobatics team collided in mid-air during rehearsals for a show and plunged to the ground, killing one of the pilots, near Bangalore (Bengaluru) on Tuesday.

Footage shows the two Surya Kiran Hawk jets flying closer together before crashing and plunging to the ground. Huge plumes of smoke could be seen rising from the crash site.

One pilot died as a result of the crash. Two others managed to eject safely and were rushed to hospital.
