Malaysia: Ex-PM Razak arrives at High Court on $10m laundering charges

The former prime minister of Malaysia Najib Razak appeared at the High Court in Kuala Lumpur on Friday, on several charges of money laundering.

Razak is accused of having received proceeds amounting to 42 million Malaysian ringgit ($10.3 million; €9 million) from 1Malaysia Development Berhad's (1MDB) former subsidiary SRC International Sdn Bhd.

Razak faces imprisonment of up to five years, a maximum fine of 5 million Malaysian ringgit ($1.2 million, €1 million), or even both in the event he is found guilty.
