David and Louise Turpin are the California couple accused of holding their 13 children captive inside their home.
According to Newser, they've pleaded guilty to charges including torture, child endangerment, false imprisonment, and others.
Riverside County District Attorney Mike Hestrin says prosecutors were happy to agree to a plea deal, so as to spare the children the pain of a trial.
The defendants ruined lives. So I think it's just and fair that the sentence be equivalent to first-degree murder. Riverside County District Attorney Mike Hestrin
Sentencing for the Turpins is set for April 19; they each face 25 years to life behind bars.
