UPI reports a new study suggests that telemedicine is a big hit with patients. According to a study published Wednesday in the Journal of the American Medical Informatics Association, people seem to prefer convenience over face-to-face doctor's office visits. Winston Liaw is the chair of the University of Houston Department of Health Systems and Population Health Sciences and study lead author. Liaw says about 90 percent of telehealth patients talk to doctors over video chat versus making in-person visits when the option exists. Liaw said, "If we don't adapt, it's a missed opportunity."
