The UAE has taken in more than 127,000 Syrians since 2011. That is in addition to the 242,000 Syrians that already live in the Emirates. We have pledged to receive a further 15,000 Syrian refugees between 2016 and 2021.

In addition, we have contributed more than $850m directly to support Syrian refugees and $9.2bn to countries bordering Syria to help them cope with the costs of hosting refugees.
