► Veganism has exploded in popularity in the UK in the last decade... with one survey claiming as many as three MILLION people identify as such. The rise has been partially been put down to the work done by organisations including PETA.

But it has repeatedly come under fire for using extreme tactics including dressing its members up as slaughtered animals and flour-bombing celebs wearing fur.

Recently PETA founder Ingrid Newkirk said humans eating animals was a form of 'cannibalism' - which critics say was not only incorrect, but risked alienating potential supporters. We spoke to her earlier about how far the movement has come.
