Reuters reports a top Senate Republican said Monday he would ask Attorney General William Barr to appoint a special counsel to investigate whether U.S. law enforcement officials made mistakes in its probe into possible collusion between President Donald Trump’s campaign and Russia. Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham said Monday: “We will begin to unpack the other side of the story," after the
attorney general said Special Counsel Robert Mueller's report found no collusion. Graham added that there should be a probe to look into the origin of a Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act warrant for former Trump adviser Carter Page. Graham said he will look into the situation as chairman of the Judiciary Committee and will use subpoena power if necessary. The FBI said in legal filings in 2016 that Page, a foreign policy adviser during Trump’s campaign, had been “collaborating and conspiring” with the Kremlin. Page was not charged.
