Amid calls for his resignation, Labor Secretary Alex Acosta defended his role in the 2008 sex-trafficking case against financier Jeffrey Epstein. As U.S. attorney, Acosta helped broker a deal that let Epstein avoid federal prosecution on charges that he sexually molested underage girls. When asked whether he would make the same deal today, Acosta said "We live in a very different world," than 12 years ago. “Today's world treats victims very, very differently."
