Ski resort uses contaminated wastewater to make snow

The Hopi Tribe in Arizona just got the go-ahead for a lawsuit to ban the city of Flagstaff from selling its wastewater to ski resorts. For years, the ski resort, Snowbowl, has been using Flagstaff's wastewater to make snow, meaning visitors ski and play in snow made of municipal wastewater. And now scientists are saying that "snow" is contaminated with traces of chemicals, antibiotics, prescription drugs, etc, that is all found in our urine. The Hopi Tribe, meanwhile, views the mountain as sacred, and sees spewing wastewater all over it as a spiritual affront. The Resident (aka Lori Harfenist) discusses.
