There were mixed reactions from South Africans following the admission by global football body FIFA that the country paid a bribe to win the hosting rights for the 2010 world cup.
In its most explicit accusation yet, FIFA said on Wednesday in a statement that the country paid 10 million dollars to get votes for the rights to the first world cup on African soil. The news came as FIFA announced they will seek tens of millions of dollars in damages from the officials facing charges in the United States over mass bribery scandals.
