Janitors who clean Target, Best Buy, and Macys in the Minneapolis area have won collective bargaining rights after a 44-month effort. More than 600 janitors in the Twin Cities will now be able to negotiate for better pay, health coverage, and other improvements in the workplace. The campaign for their right to unionize was started by the CTUL nonprofit after they discovered what they call “rampant wage theft” and understaffing.
