On Tuesday, voters in the state of Florida approved a medical marijuana proposal that was narrowly defeated just two years ago. Two years ago a nearly-identical measure in the state earned 58 percent of the vote, just short of the 60 percent threshold. According to the new amendment, the measure allows doctors in Florida to recommend medical pot for "debilitating medical conditions of the same kind or class as HIV, cancer and PTSD or comparable to those enumerated, and for which a physician believes that the medical use of marijuana would likely outweigh the potential health risks for a patient."
