He was a symbol of courage and strength for 30 years and will be remembered as a hero. New York Police Department Detective Steven McDonald passed away from a heart attack. He's spent the last three decades paralyzed after being shot on the job but still kept a constant presence within the department. His son, Conor, followed in his footsteps and joined the NYPD. In 1986, McDonald was investigating bicycle thefts in Central Park when a 15-year-old shot him three times hitting him in the spine.
