Lithuania: Parents protest closure of Russian-speaking school outside capital's City Hall

Some 100 parents of school children attending the Russian-speaking 'Stargorod' school gathered outside City Hall in Vilnius on Wednesday to protest the facility's closure.

The decision to close the school was reportedly taken at a meeting of the City Council and will displace around 300 Russian school children who will be forced to go to schools that prioritise Lithuanian as the main language of education.
