The Trump administration made an announcement on Tuesday, saying that an executive order from former president Barack Obama protecting LGBTQ persons in the workplace would stand. A statement issued by his press secretary's office read, “President Donald J. Trump is determined to protect the rights of all Americans, including the LGBTQ community." The executive order was passed in 2014, and it includes "gender identity" as one of the "protected classes in the non-discrimination clause for federal contract workers."
