It was a mammoth opening weekend for Disney's new live-action version of "Beauty and the Beast" which took home an astounding $170 million in the U.S. alone. The movie was also number one in foreign markets like the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy and Sweden. The company estimates it made $180 million from foreign markets this weekend. The film's release makes it the seventh highest opening in American box office history. The animated version brought home $145.9 million at the box office.
