Researchers inject malicious code into DNA strands

Researchers at the University of Washington say they have successfully hacked into a computer using strands of DNA. They wrote malicious code into strands of DNA, and once scanned in a sequencer, those strands granted control of the computer. Biologist Lee Organick joins CBSN to discuss the science behind this and the implications of this new discovery.
