U.S. Vice President Mike Pence called on Latin American countries to break ties with Pyongyang on Wednesday.
According to Reuters News Agency, Pence strongly urged Chile, Brazil, Mexico, and Peru "to break all diplomatic and commercial ties to North Korea" during a joint news conference in Chile with Chilean President Michelle Bachelet.
Pence said he would "especially welcome" Chile, the world's leading wine exporter outside Europe, to reclassify its wine exports as a luxury item, which would put them under the umbrella of the U.N. sanctions against North Korea.
Pence also mentioned that "all options" are on the table with regards to the North, but there were recent signs of hope on the North Korean situation.
