How Will The Parties React To Trump Pardoning Joe Arpaio?

Ex-Sheriff Joe Arpaio has been pardoned by President Trump. Arpaio had been convicted of criminal contempt for violating a federal court order commanding his Arizona department to stop racially profiling Latinos. Although the pardon is likely to be unpopular is it not out of line of Trump's rhetoric on immigration and race issues. Therefore, his low approval rate of 37 percent is not likely to drop down any lower. Yet Trump's approval ratings are hurt more when both parties criticize him on a stance he takes. Both Republicans and Democrats have spoken out against Arpaios possible pardon before Trump decided to to actually pardon him so there is the chance this move may hurt him more than he thinks.
