China: Putin touches down in Xiamen for 9th BRICS summit

Russian President Vladimir Putin landed at Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport on Sunday ahead of 9th BRICS summit in the southeastern Chinese city.

Alongside Putin, the four other leaders of the BRICS nations, Brazil’s Michel Temer, India’s Narendra Modi, China’s Xi Jinping, South Africa’s Jacob Zuma, and other officials will join the conference which will be held between September 4 and 5. China has also invited representatives from Egypt, Kenya, Tajikistan, Thailand and Mexico to participate in talks in the so-called 'BRICS Plus' format.
