Rebecca Long-Bailey tells me she believes the political and economic consensus forged by Margaret Thatcher in the 1980s has collapsed since the global financial crash in 2008. She says pro-business broadsheets like the Financial Times, which used to ridicule Jeremy Corbyn's Labour vision of a Keynesian approach to the economy, have come to accept it as the way forward.

I met her in the shadow cabinet offices to discuss Labour's approach to business, their vision for the economy and how they can improve the lives of ordinary, working Britons.
