On Monday, New Hampshire GOP Governor Chris Sununu called on Donald Trump to halt a deportation effort for 69 Indonesian Christians who fled violence in the country two decades ago and are living illegally in the US. Under the terms of a 2010 deal that allows them to remain so long as they turn up for regular check-ins with immigration officials, the group had been living near the state’s coast. However, in August, the group was told by ICE officials in the city of Manchester were told to buy one-way plane tickets back to Indonesia, which they fled after riots in 1998. Members of the group have said they fear that they would face discrimination or violence if they returned to Indonesia.
