Veterans Affairs Secretary David Shulkin Backtracks on Cuts to Homeless Veteran Program

Опубликовано 8 декабря 2017, 2:24
On Thursday, Veterans Affairs Secretary David Shulkin announced that the department would not cut a program which helps homeless veterans that the agency previously said it would end. Just hours after Politico published a report on the homeless program ending, Shulkin said in a news release on Wednesday, "There will be absolutely no change in the funding to support our homeless program." The program in question provides housing vouchers for homeless veterans, who use the vouchers to get temporary housing through the Department of Housing and Urban Development while the VA attempts to find more permanent places for them to stay. The $460 million program has been hugely successful in finding homeless veterans places to live.
