At least twelve people are said to have been killed and some 50 others injured after twin suicide bombings hit a market in Nigeria.
Witnesses said the attack happened on Wednesday afternoon, local time, with a female bomber striking inside the market in the northern city of Maiduguri while a male attacker remained outside, killing only himself.
The market in the Muna Garage area of the Borno state capital is largely used by refugees from a nearby camp.
No group immediately claimed responsibility for the attacks, but the militant group Boko Haram frequently carries out attacks in the area.
Also on the same day, two Americans and two Canadians were reportedly kidnapped in Kaduna state, in central Nigeria, while traveling to the capital city of Abuja.
