Poland’s new Defence Minister Mariusz Blaszczak met with US National Security Advisor General Herbert McMaster in Washington DC on Wednesday. The two discussed the presence of US troops in Poland as part of NATO operations.

Afterwards, speaking to journalists Blaszczak said, “we expect a greater presence of US troops in Poland." He added: "we hope that this presence will be good not only for the security of Poland but also for an entire part of Europe, I mean Central and Eastern Europe."

Blaszczak also said the Polish military was buying modern military equipment, which when “integrated with US military equipment would allow for a better usage of security potential."
