Hundreds of people on foot and on carts chucked oranges at each other as part of an Italian carnival celebration. Teams of aranceri, or orange handlers, assaulted each other with citrus. The fruit-filled festivities date back to the Middle Ages. They're based on a historical peasant revolt against a wealthy landowner. While it looks painful, there were no hard feelings, as the aranceri toast each other after the battle.
