According to a report by Reuters, all 65 passengers and crew are feared dead after a domestic flight crashed in central Iran on Sunday due to bad weather while passing over a mountainous region. While a spokesman for Iranian carrier Aseman Airlines stated on state television that everyone was dead, the airline later issued a statement saying it could not reach the crash site and could not “accurately and definitely confirm” that everyone had been killed in the crash. According to a emergency spokesman Mojtaba Khaledi, the plane, operated by Aseman Airlines, crashed near the town of Semiron after taking off from Tehran's Mehrabad airport. ISNA news agency reported that bad weather prevented helicopters from searching the probably crash site, but emergency workers were scouting the area by land.
