According to a report by Reuters, rescue workers in Syria's eastern Ghouta claimed that the bombing would not let up long enough for bodies to be counted during one of the bloodiest air assaults of the long-running war, while the UN Security Council has called for a 30-day humanitarian truce. The UN vote came while warplanes continued to pound eastern Ghouta for the seventh consecutive day. The Security Council approved a resolution calling for a 30-day truce to allow aid deliveries and medical evacuations with the support of Syrian ally Russia following a flurry of last-minute negotiations. Rocket fire, shelling and air strikes have killed over 500 people since Sunday night, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said, including more than 120 children.
