The UK Prime Minister has defended her decision to launch attacks against Syria in an address to the parliament.

Theresa May said the decision was in the country’s national interest and not the result of pressure from US President Donald Trump. She claimed that there is clear evidence that the Syrian government was behind the alleged chemical attack in Douma. May described the attacks on Syria as the last resort. However, Britain’s opposition leader Jeremy Corbyn called the military action against Syria legally questionable.
