This week, the dazzling Lyrid meteor shower, when Earth passes through the tail of Comet Thatcher as it travels on its 415 year orbit around the sun. The annual shower occurs between April 16 and 25, and while it is difficult accurately predict meteor showers, Business Insider reports the best chance to see it is in the early morning hours of April 22nd, when the waxing moon is least likely to interfere. According to Earth Sky, that is when the meteor shower is supposed to "peak," with about 10-20 meteors falling per hour.
