President Xi outlines blueprint for developing China's strength in cyberspace

Chinese President Xi Jinping has said China must "keenly" grasp the historic opportunity for the development of information technology to build its strength in cyberspace. Xi made the remarks at a two-day national conference on cyber-security and information technology that opened on Friday.

Xi, who is the head of the Central Cyberspace Affairs Commission, noted that without cyber-security, there is no national security, economic stability or protection of people's interests. He also pointed out the need to develop digital economy and facilitate digital industrialization.
