McConnell Might Cancel The Senate August Break

Опубликовано 25 мая 2018, 17:27
Republican Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is weighing the prospect of cancelling all or part of the August recess. This would keep lawmakers in Washington through the end of the summer. The move would cut into valuable campaign time for vulnerable Democrats running for re-election in red states and swing states. This is a prime strategy for sidelining vulnerable incumbent Democrats in red states. McConnell hinted that he was going to force the Senate to stay in Washington for at least part of August during an interview with Fox News on Thursday.
