The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) is a non-profit dedicated to preventing crashes and mitigating damage. The organization runs a series of crash tests on popular cars to measure vehicle deformation and impact on dummies.

Each year, the group awards cars Top Safety Pick and Top Safety Pick Plus as a way to encourage people to buy the vehicle with the best safety ratings in their price range.
