A man-eater leopard was shot dead by forest officials in Rajaji National Park. Leopard had mauled as many as 21 people to death in the past three years since 2014. As per forest officials, this leopard was continuously evading the efforts of forest officials to capture it alive in cage or by some other means. Therefore the officials had no other option than to shoot the leopard dead to prevent such tragic incidents. Officials also informed that they had shifted 5 other leopards who were attacking the humans in this park.
