Tour de France winner Jan Ullrich was detained for allegedly attacking an “escort girl” in Frankfurt on early Friday.

The 44-year-old German-born sportsman is accused of assaulting the prostitute at the luxury hotel Villa Kennedy.

According to Frankfurt Prosecutor Nadja Niesen, Ullrich choked the woman with such a force 'that her eyes became black'.

The prosecutor stated that depending on the verdict the term of imprisonment for the accused may vary. "The court envisages a punishment of imprisonment for 5 to 15 years for a murder. And in case of severe bodily injury, which also took place, the punishment is imprisonment from 6 months to 10 years," Niesen said.
