According to Reuters, a Chicago bank chief helped Paul Manafort secure loans in return for landing a post with the Trump administration.
Dennis Raico, a former Federal Savings Bank executive, testified under immunity in Manafort's federal trial for tax fraud, and bank fraud.
Raico stated that the bank’s chief executive, Stephen Calk, was directly involved with granting about $16 million in loans to Manafort.
Testimony from Manafort's trial indicates that Calk later asked Manafort about serving as the Secretary of the Army and the Treasury Secretary.
