UPDATE: Dear friends,
By 9:20 CET, August 14, 2018 we had received a couple of letters from the YouTube Team. The latest letter was explaining the position of members of the YouTube Team on employment of age-restrictions on videos.
The provided explanation was not related to the content of our video. However, at about 9:30-9:40 CET, the age-restriction was lifted from "Russian Military Campaign in Syria 2015-2018".
For our part, we express thanks to competent members of the YouTube Team that have studied the situation and have restored our rights lifting the age-restriction from the video.
SouthFront also wants to give a huge thanks to our audience for the wave of support provided.
Sincerely yours,

Due to popular demand, SouthFront released a detailed summary of military and political developments in Syria since the start of the Russian military operation to present
This video summary was released on August 11 and had the length of 92 minutes. Previously, SouthFront released a documentary on the Houthis and the war in Yemen, which had the length of 61 minutes.
Despite high complexity of this work, SouthFront continued providing daily coverage of the key military and diplomatic developments from around the world, including our Syria war report videos.
SouthFront did all this work in a complicated environment.
Less than 2 hours after the release of our new video “Russian Military Campaign in Syria 2015-2018“ it was placed behind an age restriction because it allegedly includes “violent or graphic content that appears to be posted in a shocking, sensational, or disrespectful manner”. The age-restriction clearly impacts a possible reach of the video because it does not allow people without YouTube accounts to watch it.
SouthFront immediately appealed this decision and YouTube found that the video includes no graphic content. However, the age-restriction remained because the video "may not be appropriate for a general audience".
Summing up: The video does not violate any YouTube Community Guidelines, but despite this, a manual decision was made to age-restrict the video in order to limit its reach to the general audience. This situation can be considered as another example of censorship imposed against alternative media and an independent point of view.
SouthFront has repeatedly faced various sophisticated attacks aimed at censoring the channel on YouTube [systematic ‘false flagging’ and other hostile actions] or damaging its website. The recent developments on YouTube may indicate that a new pre-planned campaign may be launched against the project soon.
Thanks to support from the audience and our partners, South Front has overcome a number of difficulties and is ready to face new ones. However, the situation remains complicated.
In August, SouthFront so far collected about 17% of the minimal budget needed to continue the project. Without the minimal budget, SouthFront will not be able to continue its work at the same level as it did before.
