According to a report by Reuters, on Friday, Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte said that Italy’s government would formally launch a procedure to revoke concessions held by Autostrade per l’Italia to operate toll highways following the collapse of a bridge in Genoa that caused at least 38 deaths. Conte said in a statement, “This disaster obliges us to take new initiatives which are much more rigorous than those adopted by previous governments." Reuters reports Conte also stated that the government holds the company responsible for Tuesday's deadly collapse.
