According to Reuters, sources have said that a key diplomatic and security meeting between China and the United States next month may not take place due to tensions in relations. Beijing and Washington have continued to engage in a trade war that has seen them extend increasingly severe rounds of tariffs on each other’s imports. Two Beijing-based diplomatic sources familiar with the plans said that plans for a meeting with U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and U.S. Defense Secretary Jim Mattis was now in doubt.
