South Korea's foreign ministry has expressed concern and disappointment after a group of Japanese lawmakers visited the highly controversial Yasukuni war shrine on Thursday.
The shrine honors Japan's war dead, including about a dozen Class-A war criminals.
Seoul's foreign ministry strongly urged Tokyo to show humble reflection based on proper historical awareness and to contribute to future-oriented South Korea-Japan relations.
Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe sent an offering to the shrine a day earlier but didn't go there in person.
