Japan's Cherry Blossom Trees Bloom 6 Months Early

Cherry blossoms across Japan are blooming six months early after two powerful typhoons hit the country in September.
The storms stripped tree leaves, brought a surprise temperature increase and turned the iconic trees unseasonably pink.
Toru Koyama, a senior official with the Flower Association of Japan, told Reuters that the fragrant trees are blooming all over Japan.
The two typhoons brought warm weather followed by colder temps that mimicked spring weather, tricking the trees into blooming.
Japanese officials said that the total number of trees blooming early is relatively low and the early bloom will not affect the spring bloom.
