According to a report by Huffpost, over 100,000 Florida residents are still without power over a week after Hurricane Michael smashed into the Florida Panhandle on a path of destruction across the state and all the way to the Georgia border. Over half the outages are reportedly in Bay County, where the storm made landfall between coastal Mexico Beach and Panama City. Rural counties reportedly had a greater percentage of people without power eight days after the storm, including Calhoun County, where 86 percent of customers of the local electric cooperative remain without electricity.
