Hurricane Willa has been downgraded to a tropical storm but is still packing winds of 120 mph. People in coastal cities are advised to look out for storm surge and rainfall.

The storm, which had briefly reached Category 5 status Monday, arrived around 9 p.m. EDT near Isla del Bosque, Sinola, about 50 miles southeast of the popular beach resort city of Mazatlan. By 2 a.m. EDT, Willa was downgraded to a tropical storm by the National Hurricane Center.
