It is a chaotic scene when smoke bombs go off in a public place. Within seconds, people inside cannot see more than a few inches in front of them. Survivors of the massacre at the Borderline Bar and Grill say the gunman set off at least one smoke bomb before opening fire. Inside Edition got a sense of the confusion inflicted by smoke bombs at the Bergen County Fire Academy in New Jersey, where officials set off smoke bombs in a training room.
