Vandaag, 18 september 2021, zou Hans Vermeulen zijn 74e verjaardag hebben gevierd. Daarom herdenken wij hem hier met deze fantastische opname, samen met Anita Meyer, Dianne Marchall en Martha Pendleton.

Rainbow Train was a Dutch band that was founded in 1975 by Hans Vermeulen after the breakup of his group Sandy Coast. Initially it was an occasional formation, but the group would also do a lot of background and studio work. They accompanied Lucifer on the recording of House For Sale and their own singer Anita Meyer in 1976 on her number 1 hit The Alternative Way.
In 1978 the album Accompanied By The Rainbow Train was released, the single Heaven On Earth became a hit. In 1979, the single Another Band reached the Top 40 with no. 31 as the highest positive on January 27, 1979.

Rainbow Train was een Nederlandse band die in 1975 werd opgericht door Hans Vermeulen na het uiteenvallen van zijn groep Sandy Coast. In eerste instantie was het een gelegenheidsformatie, maar de groep zou ook veel achtergrond- en studiowerk doen. Ze begeleidden Lucifer bij de opnames van House For Sale en hun eigen zangeres Anita Meyer in 1976 bij haar nummer 1-hit The Alternative Way.
In 1978 verscheen het album Accompanied By The Rainbow Train, waarvan de single Heaven On Earth een hit werd. In 1979 bereikte de single Another Band de Top 40 met no. 31 als hoogste positie op 27 januari 1979.
