Three Killed In Gas Explosion In Paris Amid 'Yellow Vest' Protest Lockdown

According to a report by Reuters, on Saturday, two French firefighters and a Spanish tourist died, while 50 others were injured, in a massive gas explosion that gutted the ground level of a building in a central Paris shopping district. The explosion reportedly occurred while the center of the capital was under security lockdown for the the ninth Saturday in a row due to 'yellow vest' protests. Interior Minister Christophe Castaner said, “As firemen were looking for a gas leak in the building, a dramatic explosion took place." Castaner reportedly said on his Twitter feed that two firefighters had been killed and that 10 people, including one other firefighter, had sustained serious injuries.
