Since late 2018 Supreme Court Justice, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, has faced serious health challenges.
Politico Magazine says that she fractured three ribs and had two cancerous nodules removed from her left lung.
Although she's reviewing court cases from home and is allowed to participate from home, RBG's ailments caused her to be absent from oral argument last week and will likely cause her to miss this week’s arguments as well.
Doctors expect for the 85-year-old judge to be back on the bench in February.
The liberal judge also suggested that she's not giving up her seat anytime soon.
In the summer she said that she intends to serve “at least five more years.”
Although critics say that Ginsburg should have retired a long time ago, Politico adds,
"The severity of Ginsburg’s current health condition pales in comparison with the ailments that have afflicted many of her predecessors on the bench—and unlike them, there is no sign that she has lost any of her intellectual edge."
