‘I don’t depend on my parents for anything.’ Meet 23-year-old Fatou Badjie, who earns a solid living installing solar panels in The Gambia. She demonstrated this skill to young people across the country through a roadshow that stopped in all five regions. The goal? To show youth that they can ‘Tekki Fii’ – or ‘Make It Here’ in Wolof – and find business success right where they are. The roadshow is an initiative of the Gambian government, funded by the European Union, and implemented by the International Trade Centre with partners.
